Description
The Bhut Jolokia Red is one of the hottest chillies in the world – it was the first that had passed the 1-Million-Scoville-mark and held the world record from 2007 to 2011. It originates from the region of Assam in India and has been cultivated and used there for many years. The names bih jolokia, bhut jolokia, ghost chili or naga jolokia all refer to the same variety of chili.
According to laboratory tests, our powder has an unbelievable average of 750,000 Scoville units. The powder has a delicious fruity flavour, sometimes with a slight citrus note, and tastes great in any chili lover’s favourite dish. It goes particularly well with the Indian cuisine, but is also suitable for Mexican and African dishes.
About the production process
Our bhut jolokia chilies are cultivated by a contract farmer so that we can retain influence over the production process and the quality standards in particular. The freshly harvest chili peppers are carefully dried and then ground up. In this way, virtually none of the flavours are lost. In India in particular, chili peppers are often dried at too hot a temperature. Our new bhut jolokia chili powder sets new standards when it comes to flavour and heat.
Shelf Life / Storage

How to use
The bhut jolokia chili has a very fruity flavour, similar to that of a habanero chili. The fantastic flavour of bhut jolokia chilies therefore works very well with all types of food that have a very subtle taste, such as fish, white meat and sweet dishes.
